Teen Killed in Early Morning Crash on Route 47 in Rio Grande

A teenager was killed in a crash on Route 47 just before sunrise Thursday.

Middle Township Police say they responded to a crash just after 5:00 Thursday morning on Route 47 in Rio Grande. Their investigation revealed 17-year-old Sadie Faulkner of Rio Grande was driving near milepost 2.1 when Faulkner lost control of the vehicle, causing it to leave the road and strike a pole and two trees. Faulkner passed as result of the crash.

The Middle Township Police Fatal Crash Team and Major Crimes Unit is handling the investigation, which is ongoing.
