You might want to start on a plan to take an alternate route... again.

The Townsends Inlet Bridge, at 80 years old, is set to close again for about eight months, starting around September 18th and not reopening until Memorial Day, 2019.

Unfortunately, this isn't the first time this has happened.

The Cape May County Bridge has been closed for several repairs over the last few years. This time is no different. The area of concern now is the worn-out steel spans on the Avalon side. Workers will be replacing seven of those steel spans. Four of them are made of concrete.

The Cape May County Bridge Commission approved the $8.6 million project on Thursday.
