Two Atlantic City Men Arrested for Burglarizing an Unoccupied House
An alert Atlantic City resident is being credited with helping police arrest two men for burglarizing an unoccupied residence.
Atlantic City Police say on the night of December 30th, officers responded to the 100 block of North Florida Avenue for the report of two men burglarizing a residence. Arriving officers located 28-year-old Joshua Nieves in the rear yard of the home and he was quickly taken into custody. A second male, 23-year-old Jose Aponte, began to flee the area but he was quickly taken into custody.
Cops say both men also had an active warrants for their arrest.
Both Nieves and Aponte were charged with burglary, conspiracy, and contempt of court. Aponte was also charged with obstruction of justice. Both were remanded to the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
Cops say due to the quick action of the 911 caller, no property was taken from the house.
