Two men from Rio Grande are now facing murder charges in connection with the death of 15-year-old Nicole Angstadt in December.

The Cape May County Herald reports an investigation by the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office along with the Middle and Lower Township Police Departments has led to the arrest of 23-year-old Derrick Powers and 33-year-old Charles Mosley, both of Rio Grande.

On the afternoon of December 14th, police responded to a vacant home at 100 Vermont Avenue in Rio Grande and located the body of 15-year-old Nicole Angstadt in a crawlspace. Angstsadt was reported missing to police on December 1st.

Shortly after Angstadt's body was found, an ensuing investigation lead to the arrest of three males for charges unrelated to the death. Two of those three people, Powers and Mosley, are now facing murder charges. Powers was charged in connection with two separate armed robberies. Mosley, after prosecutors learned he had a sexual relationship with Angstadt, was charged with sexual assault of a person at least 13 but less than 16 years of age, endangering the welfare of a minor, and trespassing.

Both Powers and Mosley are now both facing a long list of charges, including first degree murder and murder during the course of a sexual assault, and both are being held on $1 million bail.
