Unidentified Pedestrian Struck and Killed in Vineland Friday Night
Officials in Vineland say a man, who has not yet been identified, was struck and killed by a vehicle Friday night.
The Vineland Police Department says their officers responded to the area of West Chestnut Avenue and Southwest Boulevard at about 9:30 Friday night following a report of a vehicle-pedestrian crash.
A preliminary investigation showed that car being driven by 49-year-old Wanda I. Negron of Vineland was traveling east on West Chestnut Avenue approaching Southwest Boulevard when she struck the pedestrian. As a result of the crash, the pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police point-out that the crash did not happen at an intersection nor near a crosswalk. Cops say, "at this time, it is unknown why the pedestrian was in the roadway."
No charges have been filed at this time.
