According to Ventnor Police, they received several 911 calls at 11:16 am on Tuesday, July 15th, about a disturbance at an apartment building at 11 South Nashville Avenue.
Ventnor Police responded along with backup help from Margate City Police and the Atlantic County Sheriff's Department.
Flores has been charged with attempted murder and various weapons charges.
The victim was taken to the AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center Trauma Center in Atlantic City with serious injuries.
On Tuesday, Ventnor Police said this attack was an isolated incident and that there was no continuing threat to the community.
Suspect Involved in Knife Crimes Before
Johnny Flores is well-known to police in South Jersey. In 2016, Flores was involved in the assault of two Vineland Police officers.
At the time, 6ABC reported that the cops encountered Flores during a well-being check on a child at a home on South Valley Avenue.
As police approached the residence, Flores ran out of the house and stabbed one of the officers in the face and head.
Flores, then 26, was charged with first-degree murder. It's not clear what happened to those charges.
Vineland Police released a statement after that incident, saying, "This is a reminder of the dangers that officers can face on a daily basis."
