Dominic Mercado is an 8th grader at Sergeant Dominick Pilla Middle School in Vineland. A couple of years ago he decided to skip his own birthday party due to COVID, and hold an event to help others instead. A "pasta party" was born to benefit the Spirit and Truth Ministries in Vineland, also known as the Vineland Soup Kitchen.

According to Dominic, the pasta party involved collecting pasta and sauce from a table set up in his front yard.

This year, Dominic is doing it again. About to turn 14, he'll be set up in his front yard - 942 E. Grant Avenue in Vineland - on Saturday, April 9 from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM. He and Sebastian, 16,  will again be collecting pasta and sauce donations - and, new this year - the Easter Bunny will be on hand for photos.
