Franklinville, NJ, Woman Charged in Fatal Washington Township Crash
An arrest has been made in connection with a fatal accident in Gloucester County late last year.
Crash Near Washington Township High School
It was on November 24th when officers from the Washington Township Police Department were called out to Hurffville-Cross Keys Road for a report of a serious motor vehicle crash in front of Washington Township High School.
One adult passenger was killed and an adult who was driving another vehicle was injured in the crash.
Following an investigation between that department and the Gloucester County Prosecutor's Office, officials said that it was determined that 49-year-old Barbara A. Stell of Franklinville was driving a 2020 Nissan Sentra "while driving recklessly and under the influence of alcohol and various narcotics."
Prosecutors Outline Charges Against Driver
Stell has now been charged with first-degree reckless vehicular homicide, second-degree reckless vehicular homicide, third-degree assault by auto, and fourth-degree assault by auto.
She was arrested and turned over to the Salem County Jail where she is being held pending court proceedings.
The public is reminded that charges are accusations and all persons are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
