Famous Actor Born In New Jersey … On Trial For Sexual Assault

Here is yet another famous, A-List actor who was born in New Jersey.

I have been fascinated about the significant number of famous people who were born in New Jersey

Academy Award winner Kevin Spacey was born on July 26, 1959 in South Orange, New Jersey.

Spacey is an accomplished actor, film producer and singer.

His birth name is Kevin Spacey Fowler. He is the son of Kathleen, who was a secretary, and Thomas Geoffrey Fowler, who was a technical writer.

Spacey’s first big break came in 1992 with a Tony Award-winning performance as “Uncle Louie” in the Neil Simon hit “Lost in Yonkers.”

From there, it was off to the races for Spacey … from the theater … to the big screen with:

Swimming with Sharks (1994).
Se7en (1995).
The Usual Suspects (1995).

Spacey won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor in “The Usual Suspects.

This is the role (playing the mysterious Verbal Kint) that launched Spacey to A-List status.

Spacey is also brilliant in much acclaimed, “House of Cards” television series on Netflix.

Spacey’s tour de force acting career came to a sudden halt in 2017, when actor Anthony Rapp publicly accused Spacey of sexual misconduct.

Spacey prevailed in this case and another in Massachusetts.

However, Spacey is currently facing additional allegations in a trial taking place in The United Kingdom.

Sir Elton John appeared in support of Spacey at the current sexual assault trial being held in London.

The Associated Press and TulsaWorld.com have reported that:

“On July 17, (Elton) John appeared in London court along with his husband to testify that Spacey was not in attendance at an annual gala ball at the couple's Windsor home. Spacey's accuser claims that the Oscar winning actor attacked him in a car. Spacey has pleaded not guilty to a dozen charges that include counts of both sexual and indecent assault.“
