The Atlantic City, New Jersey Police Department has been doing a great job with clamping down on the violent crime that has been plaguing The World’s Playground this year.

We have confirmed through impeccable Atlantic City sources … who would only speak to us anonymously … that there was a shooting on the 4th of July … in the 10:00 p.m. hour.

The shooting allegedly took place last night in what is known as the “Back Maryland” section of Atlantic City.

Public details about the shooting remain sketchy at this time.

This is a developing story.

UPDATE: Atlantic City Police Captain Kevin Fair has provided us with additional information regarding this shooting incident … confirming that were two shooting incidents on the 4th of July.

On July 4, 2024, 9:55 PM, patrol officers responded to a report of large fight in the 1000 block of Sewell Avenue. As officers were arriv-ing, they were alerted that a man had been shot. The shooting victim, 24, of New York, was treated for his injuries on scene by officers and transported to the AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, City Division, with non-life-threatening injuries. On July 5, at 12:53 AM, patrol officers located a man, 53, of Atlantic City, suffering from a gunshot wound. The officers provided medical aid, and the victim was transported to the medical center with non-life-threatening injuries, said Captain Fair
