A.C. Man Pleads Guilty to Weapons Charges Connected to Tennant Shooting

A 28 year-old man from Atlantic City has pleaded guilty to weapons charges in connection the fatal shooting of 10-year-old Micah Tennant last November.

Atlantic County Prosecutor Damon G. Tyner says Tyrell Dorn was charged in November following a shooting at a high school football game. On Monday, he pleaded guilty to possession of a weapon by a convicted person with a sentence recommendation of seven years.

Authorities say on the evening of November 15th, Dorn and three other people fled after a shooting at a Pleasantville football game and as police attempted to pull over the vehicle, Dorn threw a gun out of the driver’s side window. At that game, Micah Tennant was shot and killed.

In February, a grand jury returned an indictment against Alvin Wyatt for the following charges in the death of Tennant: murder, two counts of attempted murder, unlawful possession of a weapon, and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.

There were four other men at that game who are connected to the shootings and are charged with unlawful possession of a weapon and certain persons not to possess a weapon.
