An Atlantic City Legend, Known To Many As ‘John John’ Has Passed

I have been following very closely the last weeks of John Bucci’s life, spent at Excel Care at Linwood, where many in the community were encouraged to reach out and visit John.

I knew Bucci for most of my lifetime. I knew him as “John John.”

John was a great, kind and decent man, who touched countless lives throughout the Atlantic City area.

I also don’t think that anyone would ever dispute that John was the biggest fan of Atlantic City High School sports that has ever lived.

He was a genius, with a photographic memory. He remembered you … he remembered your name and he would always greet you by saying “Hi” followed by your name.

John always said your name when he greeted you. It was all a deep part of his profound kindness as a wonderful human being.

John’s niece, Theresa Gibson had previously established a gofundme page for John’s funeral expenses, as they knew that John’s end here on Earth was nearing.

John led a great and amazing life. Here is how his niece, Theresa described it:

Hi, My name is Theresa Gibson I am the niece of John Bucci (John John)/Mr.Atlantic City. As some of you may have heard John is on his journey. My mother John's sister Roe and I will like to give John the proper send off .As we all know there are some financial obligations that need to be arranged. As per Uncle John he would like services to be held at Our Lady star of the sea followed by Holy cross cemetery with his parents.John was loved by so many, Around the clock visits by so many, calls and text.He was very well known in his community and church. He was the only person I known that didn't have not one enemy. John was born and raised in Atlantic City attended the public school system. Graduated from ACHS with Viking pride. He also attended college where he earned his bachelor's degree in education.He was last employed by A.C.B.O.E. Every time you saw John … he made you feel like the most important person in the whole wide world.
