Arrest Made in New Year’s Day Fatal Shooting of Pleasantville Man

Following a five month-long investigation, authorities have arrested an Atlantic City man for a fatal shooting on New Year's Day in the city.

The Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office says 53-year-old Jamie Sewell was arrested Friday for murder in connection to the shooting death of 21-year-old Lamir King of Pleasantville.

Authorities say King was shot and killed on the 700 block of Ohio Ave. in Atlantic City around 6:30 PM on January 1st.

Sewell was arrested without incident by members of the Atlantic City Police Department Violent Crime Unit and Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office. He is lodged in the Atlantic County Justice Facility and a detention hearing is scheduled for Wednesday, June 5th.
