Atlantic City Education Boss ‘Sells Out’ for Criminally Charged Supt.
Tim Mancuso is a former Atlantic City Councilman, long-time teacher and is currently the President of the Atlantic City Education Association.
At the last Atlantic City Board of Education meeting, Mancuso decided to appear in open public session and stated, “I would vote to support Doc.”
This is a direct reference from Mancuso, taking the public position that he supports La’Quetta Small, Superintendent of Public Schools to be able to continue in her position … while she faces the following child abuse criminal charges as follows:
- 2nd degree endangering the welfare of a child.
- 3 separate counts of disorderly persons simple assault.
La’Quetta Smalls’ husband (Atlantic City Mayor Marty Small) has been charged with:
- 2nd degree endangering the welfare of a child.
- 3rd degree aggravated assault
- 3rd degree terroristic threats
- disorderly persons simple assault.
Additionally, Atlantic City High School Principal, Constance Days-Chapman has been criminally charged with:
- second-degree Official Misconduct.
- third-degree Hindering Apprehension of Another.
- fourth-degree Obstruction of Justice.
- disorderly persons Failure to Report Child Abuse.
Days-Chapman was immediately suspended from her position upon being criminally charged.
On the other hand, every trick in the book is being employed NOT to suspend La’Quetta Small.
Mancuso will he retiring at the end of this school year.
Mancuso is a politically strategic individual. Everything he does in public has a direct meaning and purpose behind it.
Time will tell regarding why Mancuso would go against the wishes of the certified and supportive staff members of the Atlantic City Public Schools system and publicly support La’Quetta Small.
Everyone knows that when a school official is criminally charged with serious child abuse offenses … that the individual is suspended until the criminal charges are resolved.
Just like the action the district had to take with Days-Chapman, upon her criminal charges being filed.
In the La’Quetta Small case, a deeply conflicted Atlantic City Board of Education simply refuses to do its job.
Most reasonable people believe that the Atlantic City board of education has not taken appropriate action regarding La’Quetta Small … because 5 board of education members have immediate family members who work for the Atlantic City Public Schools.
The Atlantic City Board of Education has met 5 times since La’Quetta Small was criminally charged.
Incredibly, the Atlantic City Board of Education has not spoken a single word about La’Quetta Smalls’ child abuse criminal charges.
The state of New Jersey has also fallen short here and has failed to do its job.
It’s a public disgrace.
