The Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office has achieved another drug conviction — this time, involving an Atlantic City, New Jersey man.

On Friday, June 12, 2026, Shelton Archer, 22 years old, from of Atlantic City, New Jersey, has been sentenced by New Jersey Superior Court Judge, Dorothy Incarvito-Garrabrant.

Archer has received a sentence of four years in New Jersey state prison.

On September 2, 2023, Archer fled from a lawful traffic stop conducted by Atlantic City police. He was apprehended shortly thereafter and found to be in possession of 143 wax folds containing a mixture of heroin and fentanyl, which Archer admitted during his plea he intended to distribute, said the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office.

December 27, 2024

The Atlantic City police came into contact with Archer, who was in possession of the following:

48 wax folds, containing a mixture of heroin and fentanyl.

Archer admitted to this during his plea agreement that he intended to distribute the drugs.

May 6, 2025

The Atlantic City police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle that was driven by Archer.

A K9 Officer conducted a sniff of the vehicle which resulted in the presence of narcotics.

A second search of the vehicle revealed heroin and fentanyl, marijuana, and mushrooms.

Archer admitted during his plea agreement that he intended to distribute the drugs.

July 17, 2025

The Atlantic City Police conducted a search of a vehicle that had been reported to be stolen.

Archer was a passenger in the car.

Archer admitted during his plea agreement that he knew that the vehicle was stolen.

The Atlantic City police found Archer asleep in the drivers' seat of an idling car.

Officers could see a wax fold in plain view. A further search of Archer and the car discovered a total of 206 wax folds, which contained a mixture of heroin and fentanyl.

Archer admitted this during his plea agreement that he intended to distribute the drugs.
