Atlantic City, New Jersey Councilwoman LaToya Dunston previously filed harassment charges against a staunch Mayor Marty Small ally.

Because the matter involved an Atlantic City official and employee/contractor, the matter was moved to a conflict court … and, could not be heard in Atlantic City.

Margate City Municipal Judge John H. Rosenberger halted the Monday, February 26, 2024 court case between Atlantic City Councilwoman LaToya Dunston versus Craig Newsome.

Dunston filed charges against Newsome for allegedly making violent threats against her on Primary Election Day, Tuesday, June 6, 2023.

Judge Rosenberger did so because attorney Damon Tyner attempted to represent Newsome.

Judge Rosenberger halted the previous proceeding when a question was raised about Tyner’s conflict of interest (representing Newsome) because Tyner has a contract to do legal work for City of Atlantic City.

Unrelated, Tyner was recently named the new municipal prosecutor in Vineland City.

Tyner is also a former Atlantic County Prosecutor, New Jersey Superior Court Judge and New Jersey Administrative Law Judge.

Tyner readily acknowledged to Judge Rosenberger that he does have a conflict of interest. That immediately ended the court hearing ... which was rescheduled for Monday, March 25, 2024.

Tyner certainly should have known that he had a direct conflict that would disqualify him from being able to represent Newsome in a case versus a member of the Atlantic City Council.

Tyner wasted Judge Rosenberfer’s time and everyone else who showed-up for the February 26, 2024 trial.

For reasons still unknown, Newsome was a no-show at yesterday’s rescheduled trial in Judge Rosenberger’s courtroom.

Atlantic City sources have confirmed that a bench warrant has been issued by Judge Rosenberger for Newsome’s arrest.

Newsome shouldn’t be hard for the Atlantic City Police Department to find … as Newsome is the assistant director of the so-called Marty Small Atlantic City anti-violence program.

The Small anti-violence program has been an unmitigated disaster.

You can’t make this stuff up. In Atlantic City during the Small administration, truth is stranger than fiction.
