We first wrote about this former Atlantic City, New Jersey Councilman, MD Hossain Morshed on September 2, 2022.
THE ACCUSED IS A CLOSE ALLY TO ATLANTIC CITY MAYOR MARTY SMALL
Morshed is a close Atlantic City Mayor Marty Small political ally. Morshed voted 100 percent with the Small agenda in Atlantic City.
Back in September, 2022, Morshed was facing the following Criminal charges:
- endangering - abuse - neglect of a child by a non-caretaker, which is a crime of the 3rd degree.
- simple assault, resulting in bodily injury. This is a disorderly persons offense.
The disorderly persons offense also came with the presumption that the alleged offender knew that they were causing bodily injury.
MORSHED IS FACING NEW DOMESTIC VIOLENCE ALLEGATIONS
Law enforcement sources have just confirmed to me that Morshed is once again facing criminal allegations.
I have been told that the Atlantic City Police Department picked-up Morshed yesterday at approximately 6:00 p.m.
Morshed is being held now in Atlantic City.
Morshed will face a Judge at 2:30 p.m., today.
Law enforcement sources have told me that Morshed is facing the following criminal allegations:
Domestic violence; endangering the welfare of a child and domestic violence in the presence of children, according to a well placed law enforcement official with direct knowledge of the Morshed case.
Back on September 2, 2022, John Devlin, a retired career Atlantic City Police Officer was willing to go on the record with us and said:
It's time for the fourth ward councilman to resign from office. His conduct is unbecoming of a City Councilman and Vice Chairman of the Atlantic City democratic committee, said Devlin.
MORE FROM JOHN DEVLIN ON MORSHED
Devlin further said on September 2, 2022 to me:
"The continuation of this kind of behavior and more is not acceptable nor can it be tolerated. It's Very concerning to me that certain city leaders have turn a blind eye to these criminal actions. To not take action or even make a comment is a cowardly act."
"As a elected Atlantic City Democrat commissioner I can not stand by and let such behavior and actions continue. His resignation needs to be submitted immediately," said Devlin.
Devlin made this public statement in his official capacity as an Atlantic County Democratic Committeeman and Atlantic City Committeeman in Precinct 6-4.
