The month of August, 2024 closed out with two more shootings in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

The Atlantic City Police Department is currently investigating two different shootings that both took place on the evening of Saturday, August 31, 2024 as follows:

On August 31, 2024, at 8:38 PM, patrol officers responded to the 600 block of Howard Avenue for a ShotSpotter alert. Arriving officers located evidence of gunfire. Shortly after, a man suffering from gunshot wounds arrived in a personal vehicle at the AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, City Division. The victim, 35, of Atlantic City, sustained non-life-threatening injuries. There is currently no further information available.

At 11:13 PM, a second man was shot in the 100-south block of Michigan Avenue. The vic-tim, 36, of Deptford, NJ, was taken to the medical center for a non-life-threatening injury.

The investigation is being directed by the Atlantic City Police Department’s Violent Crimes Unit.
