The Atlantic City, New Jersey has arrested a stabbing suspect, who they confirm had a knife in his possession that was used in an altercation.

The Atlantic City Police Department has revealed the following facts about this case:

On August 13, 2024, at 9:54 PM, patrol officers responded to the 1500 block of Atlantic Avenue for a report of a man that was stabbed. Officers arrived to learn that the victim and suspect had left the area. Officers Irwin Sanchez and Josue Rodriguez located the victim, 27, of Bridgeton, Nu, in the 1700 block of Atlantic Avenue. The victim was suffering from stab wounds and bleeding heavily. The officers transported the victim to the AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, City Division, for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, said the Atlantic City Police Department.

Further, “a description of the suspect was obtained and broadcasted to officers. Shortly after, Officers Dylan Imbrenda and Melvin Murray III located a man walking in the area of the Arctic Avenue. Rashaun Williams-Brooks was positively identified and arrested. He was found in possession of a folding knife and had blood on his clothing,” said the Atlantic City Police Department.

Atlantic City Police Officers also confirmed that the victim and Williams-Brooks were involved in a physical altercation before the stabbing occurred.

ARRESTED: Rashaun Williams-Brooks, 39, of Atlantic City.

CHARGES: Aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and certain person not to possess a weapon.

Williams-Brooks is presently being held at the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
