It was a very busy day in the City of Atlantic City, New Jersey.

Multiple well placed sources have told us that Atlantic  City Mayor Marty Small ”burned-up the phone lines” … calling Atlantic City board of education members to try and line-up support for his wife … Atlantic City Superintendent of Public Schools, La’Quetta Small.

The first step for the Atlantic City Board of Education was a vote on what’s called “The Doctrine of Necessity” … which they did tonight.

This is because so many current members of the board of education have direct conflicts of interest.

The Board approved it, which means they will be able to vote in the future on the fate of Atlantic City Superintendent of Public Schools, La’Quetta Small.

The Atlantic City Board of Education will next meet about La’Quetta Small on Thursday, May 16, 2024 at 6:00 p.m.

La’Quetta Small currently faces serious child abuse criminal charges that were filed by the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office, including:

LA'QUETTA SMALL is criminally charged with:

  • 2nd degree endangering the welfare of a child.
  • 3 separate counts of disorderly persons simple assault.

Additionally, Marty Small and Constance Days-Chapman have also been criminally charge as follows:

MARTY SMALL is criminally charged with:

  • 2nd degree endangering the welfare of a child.
  • 3rd degree aggravated assault
  • 3rd degree terroristic threats
  • disorderly persons simple assault.

CONSTANCE DAYS-CHAPMAN is criminally charged with:

  • second-degree Official Misconduct.
  • third-degree Hindering Apprehension of
  • Another.
  • fourth-degree Obstruction of Justice.
  • disorderly persons Failure to Report Child Abuse.

Days-Chapman has previously been suspended.

What many have watched in utter amazement is that for the past month, La’Quetta Small has not been suspended.

The Atlantic City Board of Education finally appeared poised to do the right, legal and responsible thing regarding La’Quetta Small.

The Atlantic City Board of education hired a special legal counsel.

This resulted in the filling public notice about a special meeting, to address “personnel matters” and the notice also confirms that “action will be taken.”

That action is to take action on La’Quetta Small.

If Marty small succeeds in convincing a majority of the Board of Education to vote against La’Quetta Smalls’ suspension … they will have created a crisis that the state of New Jersey will have to promptly resolve.

No action was taken at tonight’s meeting about the fate of La’Quetta Small.

Therefore, she will remain in the position on active status at least until the next meeting of the Atlantic City Board of Education.

The Atlantic City Board of Education appears to have used the “Doctrine of Necessity” more than any school board in the state of New Jersey in recent years.

This is because so many Atlantic City board members have immediate family members working for the district and other conflicts of interest, that prevent them from voting on the budget and many other key issues.

The Atlantic City Board of Education has hired David Rubin as special counsel for the La’Quetta Small matter. Rubin is an expert in school board law.

Rubin well knows that the Atlantic City Board of Education is required to suspend La’Quetta Small because the criminal charges she faces are child abuse charges.

In the end, the Atlantic City Board of Education may simply ignore this.

Then, it will be up to the state of New Jersey to make the decision.
