
Atlantic City Woman Admits Chasing Victim Into Home During Assault
Atlantic City, N.J. — An Atlantic City woman has pleaded guilty to burglary charges after prosecutors say she and a co-defendant chased a woman into her own home to continue beating her.
38-year-old Serena Martinez entered her plea Tuesday in Atlantic County.
What Happened
According to the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office, Atlantic City police were called to a home on August 17th, 2025, for a report of a woman being assaulted.
Investigators determined that Martinez and a female co-defendant had been assaulting the victim outside before following her into her home to continue the attack.
Martinez admitted during her plea that she entered the victim's home with the intent to continue the assault.

Guilty Plea, Prison Time Ahead
Martinez pleaded guilty to second-degree residential burglary and second-degree conspiracy to commit residential burglary. Her plea agreement calls for a recommended five-year state prison sentence, with 85% to be served before parole eligibility under the No Early Release Act, followed by three years of parole supervision.
Sentencing is scheduled for July 31st.
