Bridgeton Police have issued a "Community Alert" about fake news posted on Facebook about the missing girl, Dulce Maria Alavez.

The alert, posted by police Tuesday evening reads as follows:

"Please be advised that information circulating on social media that Dulce Maria Alavez has been located deceased is FALSE! This type of information is reckless and interferes with this missing persons investigation. Anyone with information who is posting this false information, is asked to share same anonymously here. Please SHARE to dispel this reckless rumor."

Dulce Maria Alavez, then 5, was reported missing from a Bridgeton City Park in September of 2019.

This is actually the second alert about this case issued in the last month. In late September, the Cumberland County Prosecutor issued as statement warning about fake news in the case regarding an arrest.

Anonymous tips in the case can be made here.
