Caught in a ride-share, 2 Atlantic City, NJ, men charged with cell phone store burglary
Two men from Atlantic City have been charged following a burglary at a cell phone store over the long 4th of July holiday.
The Atlantic City Police Department says their officers were called to the T-Mobile store on the 1400 block of Atlantic Avenue just after 6:30 Friday morning, July 5th, after two suspects had entered the business while it was closed and stole numerous cell phones and other items.
While investigating that burglary, other ACPD officers stopped a vehicle in the 300 block of North Carolina Avenue. That vehicle, which was a ride-share, had two occupants in the backseat, 56-year-old Scott Sewell and 51-year-old Keith Faulkner, both of Atlantic City.
Sewell and Faulkner were later arrested after detectives allegedly recovered a bag containing cell phones and other merchandise from T-Mobile.
Faulkner was charged with burglary, theft, conspiracy, refusal to be fingerprinted, and possession of CDS paraphernalia, and remanded to the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
Sewell was charged with burglary, theft, and conspiracy and released on a summons with a future court date.
Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call the Atlantic City Police Department's Criminal Investigations Unit at (609) 347-5766.
The public is reminded that charges are accusations and all persons are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
