The man who was arrested in connection to the murder of a Vineland woman has had the charges brought against him upgraded, according to the New Jersey State Police.

52-year-old Dennis Parrish of Vineland is now facing murder, hindering apprehension, obstruction, and tampering with evidence charges. He remains lodged at Cumberland County Jail pending a trial.

Parrish was arrested on July 12th at a hotel in Absecon in connection to the murder of 32-year-old Tonya Cook, also of Vineland. Cook's burned and dismembered body was found on the side of a road in rural Lawrence Township, Cumberland County, on July 2nd.

Parrish was initially charged with desecration of human remains and moving human remains.
