Wildwood Man Arrested for Weapon, Drug Offenses Following Argument
Cops in Wildwood say a man was arrested Monday after he was found with a gun and drugs following a verbal dispute at a motel.
According to the Wildwood Police Department, their officers responded to the Gilmore Hotel on East Schellenger Avenue at about 2:30 Monday afternoon for a report of a man with a gun at that location.
Police say when they arrived, they were told that 29-year-old Christopher Vesper brandished a handgun during an argument before he returned to his room at the motel.
Wildwood Police executed a search warrant at Vesper’s room and they found, according to a press release, a pellet-type handgun that matched the one described by a witness, several bags of suspected CDS (heroin), and drug paraphernalia.
Vesper was charged with third-degree Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, third-degree Certain Person Not to Possess a Weapon, third-degree Possession of CDS / Heroin, and Possession of CDS Paraphernalia (a disorderly persons offense).
These charges were placed on a warrant complaint and Vesper was lodged in the Cape May County Correctional Center in accordance with New Jersey Criminal Justice Reform guidelines.
