The Coast Guard came to the aid of a captain over the weekend after he suffered a leg injury aboard a ship over 350 miles east of Cape May.
According to a press release, around noon Saturday, Fifth District watchstanders were notified that the captain of the almost 900-feet-long Almi Voyager ship had suffered a leg injury.
A Coast Guard crew based in Atlantic City was dispatched and met the ship 47 miles east of Cape May, where they hoisted the captain aboard a helicopter and transported him to ARMC-City's trauma unit just after 11AM.
