Job burnout is a special type of stress that can be a physical, mental, and emotional burden to your daily life. What contributes to job burnout?  A sense that you lack control, dysfunctional workplace dynamics, or an uneven work-life balance are just some of the factors.

Here are five ways to combat job burnout.

    Seek Support

    Whether you vent to coworkers, family, friends, or loved ones, simply speaking your mind on what the issues are can be therapeutic and lead to feeling better.

    Adjust Your Attitude

    Try to adjust your outlook on the work that you are doing. Instead of being cynical, or angry try your best to see the positives. Better yet, exert positive feelings toward your co-workers. Telling them they are doing a good job or giving them a compliment can boost their morale and raise positivity throughout the whole office.

    Talk to Your Supervisor

    Have discussions with your boss or supervisor. The best way to solve a problem is to express it honestly to those that have the ability to make it better. You might be surprised at the solutions he or she can provide you.

    Get Some Sleep

    Get some sleep. Your body needs to recharge. Getting the right amount of sleep can lead to you feeling refreshed and ready to take on the challenges of daily work life in order to avoid being burnt out.

    Evaluate your options

    If you have tried all the above options and still feel like work has you run down it may be time to reevaluate your options. Not everyone has the luxury of being able to change careers, but it might be beneficial to your health to be in a work situation where you are happy and can be productive without the struggles that come from work burnout.
