Egg Harbor Township, NJ, Man Pleads Guilty to Drug Induced Death

The Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office has won yet another conviction … this time earning a guilty plea from an Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey man … who has accepted responsibility for causing a “Strict Liability Drug Induced Death.”

Christopher Sainsot, 40 years old, from Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey made his guilty plea before New Jersey Superior Court Judge Donna M. Taylor,

Specifically, Sainsot pled guilty to;

first-degree strict liability drug induced death.
second-degree possession with the intent to distribute methamphetamine.

About this case, the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office said the following … note, a victim and witness are being referred to by only their initials.

The charges stem from an incident on October 25, 2022, where patrol responded to 165 Asbury Road, for the report of a possible drug-related overdose death. The victim, identified as K.T., was located deceased. A witness, B.A., was on scene and stated he brought K.T. to the residence to purchase opiates. The resident, Christopher L. Sainsot, was also on scene. B.A. provided a statement to detectives that he and K.T. purchased one gram of heroin, and three suboxone pills from Sainsot. B.A. stated they both then snorted the suspected heroin. A clear plastic bag containing fentanyl was located near K.T.'s body., said the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office.

Law enforcement discovered the following in Sainsot’s bedroom:

18 grams of methamphetamine.
anabolic steroids.
approximately 150 1mg alprazolam (Xanax).
26 suboxone.
a scale.
manufacturing equipment for a production facility, specific to anabolic steroids.
clear plastic bags and approximately two grams of fentanyl.

“The narcotics recovered were sent to the New Jersey's State Lab for testing which confirmed that the white powdery substance from Sainsot's bedroom and the white powdery substance located near K.T. was fentanyl and 4-ANPP, both scheduled Il narcotics. Additionally, the State lab confirmed that the methamphetamine recovered from Sainsot's bedroom was over one-half ounce,” said the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office.

The Medical Examiner's Office has confirmed that K.T.'s cause of death was fentanyl and alcohol intoxication.

Sainsot will be sentenced on April 28, 2025 and he is currently housed at the Atlantic County Justice Facility, pending sentencing.
