Egg Harbor Township, NJ Police: Crash With Injuries & DWI Arrest

On Saturday, February 10, 2024 at just before 7:00 p.m., the Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey Police Department responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash with injuries at the Westcoat Road area off of the Garden State Parkway.

Upon arrival to the scene, they discovered a multi-vehicle crash.

The Egg Harbor Township Police have determined that Aden Gallegos, 20, of Galloway Township, New Jersey “performed an abrupt U-turn on Westcoat Road resulting in the crash.”

The second car was driven by Taylor Radcliffe, 30, of Northfield, New Jersey.

About this crash, the Egg Harbor Township Police Department said:

Investigation revealed that Gallegos was under the influence of intoxicating liquor and/or drugs, specifically marijuana. Gallegos was transported to AtlantiCare Medical Center in Galloway. Gallegos was charged with Driving While Intoxicated along with numerous other motor vehicle violations.

The Egg Harbor Township Police Department has also confirmed that both motor vehicles had to towed away from the crash scene.

The Egg Harbor Township also warned that:

This serves as a reminder that you can and will be arrested for DWI if you are operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of marijuana.

Some, perhaps many are mistakenly of the opinion that driving after using marijuana is somehow different than drinking after consuming an excessive amount of alcohol.

There is  no distinction, when you drive impaired … whether you are under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

The ramifications are very serious in nature and change your life for the worse should you engage in this dangerous and reckless behavior.

This DWI crash incident, with injuries is being investigated by Police Officer Thomas Rizzotte Jr. of the Egg Harbor Township Police Traffic Safety Unit.
