We have confirmed that plans are being firmed-up at this time to form a Mayor and 3 City Council at Large candidates slate to challenge Atlantic City, New Jersey Mayor Marty Small.

There is wide spread agreement that Small has been a dysfunctional and disastrous Mayor and there is a supreme desire by many to replace him next year.

There is no doubt that Small will be seeking re-election.

Small will have to do so as a criminal defendant, who faces the following child abuse charges:

  • 2nd degree endangering the welfare of a child.
  • 3rd degree aggravated assault
  • 3rd degree terroristic threats
  • disorderly persons simple assault.

His wife, La’Quetta Small faces these criminal charges at the same time as her husband:

  • 2nd degree endangering the welfare of a child.
  • 3 separate counts of disorderly persons simple assault.

The residents of Atlantic City is growing weary of the Smalls’ accumulation of political power.

We have learned that there is much speculation about a possible Bob McDevitt candidacy for Atlantic City Mayor.

McDevitt is the former long-time President of UNITE-HERE Local 54, South Jersey’s largest union.

McDevitt left this role that he loved to become the head of the UNITE-HERE pension fund, serving at the corporate level of the union.

We have spoken with McDevitt, who would not confirm or deny his level of interest in running for Mayor of Atlantic City.

John Devlin is a possible candidate for Atlantic City Councilman at Large.

Devlin is a retired Atlantic City Police Officer. Devlin also served on the Atlantic City Board of Education for more than 20 years. Devlin was Board President for many of those years.

Devlin is also the former Chairman of the Atlantic City Municipal Utilities Authority.

Atlantic City Councilman George Tibbitt is up for re-election next year.

Tibbitt is the current, longest serving member of the Atlantic City Council, with more than 20 years in office.

Tibbitt had not yet announced whether or not he will be seeking re-election.

There is no doubt that other candidates are also considering whether to enter the 2025 race.
