Fleeing, Armed Suspect Arrested in Atlantic City, New Jersey
The Atlantic City Police Department has arrested a fleeing suspect who was armed with a stolen handgun.
The now arrested suspect attempted to discard the stolen handgun.
The Atlantic City Police Department has released the following facts about this incident.
On August 14, 2024, at 7:06 PM, Sergeant Daniel Arra received detailed information of a man in the 1100 block of Arctic Avenue in possession of a handgun. Patrol officers immediately responded to the area and located Jackie Mullins riding his bicycle in the area. Officers Matthew Crosby and Dion Liu attempted to speak with Mullins who sped away and then jumped off his bike and began to run. Mullins surrendered to officers during the foot pursuit. While fleeing, Mullins discarded a loaded handgun under a vehicle. The handgun had been reported stolen from North Carolina.
ARRESTED: Jackie Mullins, 40, of Atlantic City.
CHARGES:
- Unlawful possession of a weapon.
- possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose,
- obstruction of justice.
- resisting arrest.
- certain person not to possess a weapon.
- receiving stolen property.
Mullins is currently being held at the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
