Formica Wins Atlantic County Freeholder-at-large Race

Frank Formica has won the Atlantic County freeholder-at-large race by 1,783 votes out of more than 82,000 cast.

The provisional vote counting ended at 1:30 Friday morning.

The democrat, Celeste Fernandez, received 58 percent versus 42 percent for Formica, regarding provisional ballots. It wasn’t enough to overtake Formica, who held a 2,600 vote lead with only the provisional votes left to be counted.

Formica had to overcome heavy headwinds, including a U.S. Senate race, U.S. House of Representatives race, the Craig Callaway/vote-by-mail juggernaut, and provisional ballots.

Formica was able to prevail over all four of these uncontrollable key factors.
