Crime Stoppers of Atlantic County, New Jersey President Cyndi Balles has announced that Galloway Township Police Chief (Ret.) Donna Higbee is the 2022 "Crime Stopper of the Year.”

“Chief Higbee has been a supporter and partner of Atlantic County Crime Stoppers throughout her stellar career specifically while serving as Detective and then as Chief by supporting the Anonymous Tip Line and its goals. Galloway Township Police Department has been a partner of Atlantic County Crime Stoppers throughout its existence,” said Balles.

Atlantic County Crime Stoppers is a registered 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization.

This entity has made it a career of providing an effective anonymous method for citizens to report information about suspected criminal activity.

Should the information that you provide lead to the arrest and indictment of a guilty party … you may be entitled to a cash reward.

Balles provided us with a specific 2017 incident in Galloway Township, whereby “a makeshift Molotov Cocktail was thrown into the Galloway Township Police Department and Atlantic County Crime Stoppers was able to pay a reward to the Tipster who reported the suspect who was subsequently indicted and brought
to justice. Anonymous tipsters are asked to provide information and photos via their unique secure web-based platform,” said Balles.

As an anonymous tipster, you are provided with a unique code, which allows you to follow up on any reward status. The tip line is 609-652-1234 or

Balles has also confirmed that Amy Defeo-Barbella, who is the property manager of California Apartments, will receive the “Atlantic County Crime Stoppers Community Partner” Award.

About Defeo-Barbella, Balles said: “Amy is a champion in the Atlantic County Community, supporting a host of charitable organizations, specifically Gilda's Club and the MBCA. We know without the support of her employer, Manor Communities, owner of California Apartments, much of this support would not be possible,” said Balles.
