Concern over thin pieces of plastic wrapping found mixed into packages of ground beef has resulted in a nine state recalling, including in New Jersey.

There have been two reports of consumer complaints about the plastic shreds in ground beef produced by Pre Brands LLC and distributed by Amity Packing Company, according to Patch.com.

The beef packages in question were reportedly created on January 6, 2020, and contain the following labels:

1lb. vacuum-packed packages containing "Pre 95 percent lean 5 percent fat ground beef" with lot code "0060," case code "11402" and use/freeze by date of Jan. 31, 2020 on the product label.

The products subject to recall have the establishment number "est. 6916" printed on the right, front side of the package.

So far, there have been no injuries or illness reported that relate to the plastic being found in the ground beef.
