A 55-year-old North Cape May woman faces a number of charges after hitting a man on a bicycle, then leaving the scene of an accident.
Lower Township Police say a man was struck while on his bicycle Wednesday night at 10:40pm on Bayshore Road in the Villas.
Here are the details, according to police:
Patrol Officer Thomas Shough arrived on scene first to find that the man riding the bicycle had sustained a serious injury to his right upper arm. Patrol Officers Jason Felsing and Austin Craig were en route to the crash scene from the area of Bayshore Road and Charles Street, North Cape May, when a dark colored pickup truck passed them heading south bound on Bayshore Road. The driver of the truck was identified as Sun O. Payne, a 55-year-old female, who resides in the North Cape May section of the township. Ms. Payne was administered standard field sobriety testing, and as a result was placed under arrest for driving while intoxicated.
