I was on the Garden State Parkway this morning in Galloway traveling at a blistering 3 MPH in a construction zone and I asked myself, "when is all of this construction going to end?"

The answer: we can sorta-kinda see the light at the end of the tunnel but we still have a long way to go.

The Garden State Parkway has been under construction for a number of years now -- the road is being widened to three lanes, numerous exit ramps are being redesigned, and bridges are being replaced.

Locally, the stretch of the Parkway between Exit 36 for Tilton Road and Exit 38 for the Atlantic City Expressway has been cone-city for a couple of years now. And the good news is everything should be wrapped-up by the end of 2017 or the beginning of 2018, according to plans from the State.

When all is said and done, the Parkway will be three lanes through the Expressway junction and you won't have to sit in traffic exiting at 36 as a new third lane on Tilton Road will eliminate the yield and merge.

Hang in there!
