Williamstown, NJ, Man Gets 15 Years for Producing Child Porn
A Gloucester County man will be spending the next 188 months, or about 15 1/2 years, in prison for producing images of child sexual abuse.
Acting U.S. Attorney Rachael Honig says 34-year-old James Thiel of Williamstown had previously pleaded guilty before a judge to one count of sexual exploitation of a minor. The prison term was handed-down in Camden federal court on Monday.
According to documents filed in this case,
"From April 2019 through August 2019, Thiel used an email account and a file sharing site to send images and videos of child sexual abuse to other individuals. Thiel produced and appeared in several of these images and videos along with a pre-pubescent child."
In addition to the prison term, Thiel was also sentenced to a lifetime term of supervised release, he was ordered to pay restitution of $5,000 to victims, and he must register as a sex offender.
Honig credited numerous law enforcement agencies, including the Department of Homeland Security and the Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office, with the investigation leading to Thiel's sentencing.
