Keeping Your Kids Healthy in These Modern Times
Remember what it was like when we were kids? We played and ran around outside until our parents had to chase us down for dinner.
Now, instead of shooting hoops on a court, our kids are playing a basketball video game.
Almost half of all kids 8 to 16 years old are on an electronic screen 3 to 5 hours a day. The number of overweight kids has doubled in the past 20 years, resulting in serious health conditions.
So what can we do? Plan healthy meals, cut down on soft drinks and fast food, make time for fitness activities with the family and emphasize the importance eating right. You know the old saying – actions speak louder than words.
Your kids are more likely to listen if you show them instead of tell them.
