UPDATE - 8 AM SUNDAY: The New Jersey Forest Fire Service has achieved 100% containment of a 1,607-acre wildfire in Little Egg Harbor Twp.

County Route 539 has reopened. Please use caution in the area as firefighters may periodically conduct work along the roadside.

Smoky conditions may remain for several days.

No structures were damaged.

Crews with the New Jersey Forest Fire Service are on the scene of a wildfire in Little Egg Harbor Township.

The blaze, being called the Log Swamp Wildfire, was first spotted around 10:15 Saturday morning in Bass River State Forest at the Stafford Forge Wildlife Management Area and at the Warren Grove Bombing Range.

A Forest Fire Service observer detected the fire from the Cedar Bridge Fire Tower when arriving to work for the day.

As of around 2 PM Saturday, the fire was 200 acres in size and 0% contained.

National Weather Service doppler radar showed a large plume of smoke blowing towards the north.

County Route 539 is closed from the town of Warren Grove to Forge Road.

Officials say no residential structures are threatened and there are no evacuations at this time.
