Burlington County, NJ, Man Facing 46 Charges in Gun Case
A Burlington County man is facing numerous weapons charges after authorities said more than two dozen firearms were seized following a two-month gun trafficking investigation.
58-year-old Rodney Rodgers of Maple Shade is charged with 16 counts of second-degree transporting firearms for unlawful sale, 15 counts of second-degree unlawful possession of a weapon, and six counts of second-degree certain persons not to have weapons.
He was also charged with two counts of second-degree possession of firearms and controlled dangerous substances (CDS), two counts of third-degree possession of CDS, two counts of third-degree possession with intent to distribute CDS, and one count of third-degree unlawful possession of a weapon.
According to Camden County Prosecutor Grace MacAulay, this past December, numerous law enforcement agencies received information about Rodgers' alleged involvement in trafficking firearms.
During the investigation, detectives and special agents oversaw the purchase of 15 handguns, a rifle, and suspected cocaine from Rodgers. A subsequent search of addresses and a vehicle associated with Rodgers led to the seizure of 10 additional handguns and approximately 26 grams of suspected cocaine.
Rodgers was arrested on February 10th and remanded to the Camden County Correctional Facility.
The public is reminded that charges are accusations and all persons are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
