A Margate man will likely spend some time in prison in connection to two incidents, including assaulting a healthcare worker.

On Tuesday, 53-year-old Patrick McCline pleaded guilty to third-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and fourth-degree aggravated assault on a healthcare worker.

Assault at AtlantiCare

The Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office says on May 21st, 2024, while McCline was at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center in Atlantic City, he kicked a nurse in the chest. He was arrested and charged accordingly.

Threats and Knives in Margate

Then, on September 22nd, 2024, officers with the Margate City Police Department were called to a home in reference to a crisis incident. There, McCline became agitated and made threats of harm to the officers. He also threatened to kill one of the occupants of the home.

Cops arrested McCline and discovered he had a knife in his waistband as well as two additional knives hidden in a leg brace.

Prison Time Expected

Sentencing is scheduled for March 13th. A plea agreement calls for him to serve three years in state prison.
