Police have been looking for a bad guy in Atlantic City - and they found him when he double-parked his car.

Atlantic City Police say their officers responded to a armed robbery on the Boardwalk early Thursday morning. Police say a man and woman from Baltimore had been stopped by a man with a gun. He stole their belongings and fled the boardwalk.

Police say they were able to use surveillance cameras in the area to observe the suspect and his vehicle.

Some 15 hours later, an officer noticed a car double-parked on Atlantic Avenue. The car matched the description of the car in the earlier robbery.

A motor vehicle stop was initiated and the occupant, Kirk Williams, was detained. During a search of the vehicle, an item belonging to the victims was located as well as clothing worn by Williams during the robbery. An investigation by detectives of the Street Crimes Unit resulted in Williams later being arrested.

Police say Williams, 24, of Millville, has been charged with robbery, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon, and certain person not to possess a weapon. He's being held in the Atlantic Country Jail.
