Has The Atlantic County, NJ Prosecutor Gone Off The Rails?
OPINION — EDITORIAL
The Demarcation line appears to be when the Atlantic County, New Jersey Prosecutor Will Reynolds lost big at trial to Atlantic City Mayor Marty Small.
Has The Atlantic County Prosecutor Will Reynolds “Gone Off The Rails?”
I don’t ask this question lightly. Prior to Reynolds’ handling of the Marty Small trial and the public dust-up versus Atlantic County Executive Dennis Levinson … no one has spoken or written more flattering comments about Reynolds than me.
Before even suggesting the phrase, “Gone Off The Rails,” I sought help from artificial intelligence on the subject.
Artificial Intelligence offered the following comment on this subject:
"Gone off the rails" describes a sudden, often shocking departure from one's usual stability, discipline, or sound judgment. It evokes the image of a train-steady, predictable, purposeful — derailing into chaos. When a formally balanced individual goes off the rails, the contrast is what captivates us. The person once detined by restraint and reliability becomes unpredictable, even reckless.

The Reynolds Rationale For His Filing A Tort Claim Notice
This is direct from Reynolds’ Tort Claim Notice:
At this time the full extent of damages is not yet known. However, claimant presently estimates damages to exceed $1,000,000, including:
- reputational damage
- professional harm
- legal expenses
- consequential damages arising from interference with official duties
Claimant (Reynolds) reserves the right to amend this amount as additional damages become known.
Atlantic County Executive Dennis Levinson
Levinson also appears to have triggered much of Reynolds’ erratic public behavior since the Marty Small trial.
Levinson offered Reynolds some friendly advice … that he should dismiss the criminal charges against La’Quetta Small and Constance Days-Chapman in light of Marty Small’s decisive victory at trial against Reynolds.
It was very good advice.
The Question Must Be Raised …
Can Reynolds remain as Atlantic County Prosecutor under the present circumstances?
This latest Reynolds legal action appears to be helpful to Marty Small, La’Quetta Small and Constance Days-Chapman and their coming lawsuit against Reynolds and The County of Atlantic.
Reynolds lost bigly to the Atlantic City trio and now appears to be continuing the behavior by going after them with a civil action.
