A 19-year-old caught outside in a recent storm was struck by lightning and he lived to tell about it.

Brendan Darby of Chatham, NJ, was on the grounds of Chatham Middle School Thursday night when it started raining. The teen told 6abc.com he saw people running for cover and the next thing he knew was laying on his back looking up at the sky.

Darby was reportedly knocked out by a very close bolt of lightning.

"I had no pain, I was a little numb, a little tingly.", said Chatham, "I don't know if that was adrenaline or all that electricity running through my body."

Darby suffered little to no physical consequences of the terrifying incident.
