A 19-year-old North Cape May man has been arrested on charges his sexually assaulted a 14-year old girl.

Cape May County Prosecutor Jeffrey H. Sutherland and Lower Township Police Chief William Mastriana have announced that Albert M. McCarraher, 19, was arrested on sexual assault charges.

According to Sutherland, here's what happened:

On November 4, 2019, the Lower Township Police Department was alerted to a 14 year old female victim who stated she had been sexually assault by McCarraher during the first week of November. Detectives from the Lower Township Police Department and the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit immediately initiated an investigation.
During the course of this investigation, two other juvenile female victims provided statements that they were sexually assaulted by McCarraher. A 14 year old victim stated she was sexually assaulted in October 2019 and an 11 year old victim said she was also sexually assaulted during the first week of November. All three victims were acquaintances of McCarraher.
On November 7, 2019, Albert M. McCarraher was arrested and charged with four counts of sexual assault of a juvenile, crimes of the second degree, and three counts of endangering the welfare of a child, crimes of the third degree. McCarraher was lodged in the Cape May County Correctional Facility pending Court proceedings.

Sutherland asserts that the investigation in continuing. He asks that anyone "with information regarding these assaults or anyone with additional information to contact the Lower Township Police Department at 609-886-1619 or the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office at 609-465-1135 or report the information anonymously through the Cape May County Sheriff’s Tip Line at cmcsheriff.net and click on anonymous tip, or through the Cape May County Crime-Stoppers at 877-465-2801."
