
NYC Man Identified as Fatal Shooting Victim in Atlantic City
Authorities have identified a man from New York City as the victim of a fatal shooting in Atlantic City Friday night.
The Major Crimes Unit with the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office says 25-year-old Dameer Smith of New York City was shot and killed just as last weekend started.
Atlantic County Prosecutor Damon G. Tyner says,
On February 5, 2021, at approximately 9:27 p.m., the Atlantic City Police Department was notified of a shooting on the 1300 block of Pacific Avenue. Atlantic City Police Department and EMS responded to the scene. Twenty-five year-old Dameer Smith of New York City was located on the street with a gunshot wound. Smith was transported to Atlanticare Regional Medical Center City Campus where he was pronounced deceased. Smith died as a result of a single gunshot wound.
No further information has been released about this incident. The investigation remains active by the prosecutor's office and the Atlantic City Police Department’s Violent Crimes Unit.
