This year, more than ever, it's important for us as women to empower each other in any and every way we can.

While it's true everyone's had to struggle this year in one way or another, I can't personally help but feel that women have had one of the hardest years of their lives. This is especially true for women that chose to be mamas.

Remember how you felt on New Year's Eve 2019? We were all bright-eyed and bushy-tailed, excited by what the next decade would bring. Sludge. It brought sludge. The COVID-19 pandemic translated to so much loss for so many, and as women, we had to pick up the pieces for many of our families. That's not to say that men didn't have to do the same, but in my experience at least with those close to me, the women are the ones that kept the train on the track this year. And to those of you that can identify with that, this is for you.

I'm not a mom, but I've watched my friends who are do extraordinary things this year. For one, I don't think when my nurse-friend went to school, she ever anticipated she would have to be both a nurse and teacher at the same time. One of my best friends had to make the ultimate sacrifice - leave a career that she loved and worked so hard for to stay home with her boys so they didn't fall behind in school. Another one of my friends is currently at home with her two boys, monitoring their online learning, studying for her Master's Degree in Accounting and Finance, all while holding down the fort since her husband is active-duty Army.

You are seen. You are worthy. You are valued. You are loved.

To those women who aren't moms yet, but still had their worlds rocked whether it was financially (me), career-based, or even if you had to put off your wedding multiple times this year, I want to tell you that I see you. I'm praying for you. Keep your head held high.

To all women who are impacted by mental illness and inner demons: you are not alone. You are also seen. Don't ever doubt your worth because you feel like giving up or giving in. We all have bad days. COVID-19's made those of us that struggle with mental illness have even more bad days than we would under normal circumstances. I'm here to tell you, WOOOOOOF, that takes a toll.

Women are so strong. We are fierce. We are resilient. Most of all, we are love.

Happy International Women's Day, queens. This one's for you. Enjoy it.
