
Pennsylvania Man Arrested for Armed Bank Robbery in Voorhees, NJ
A Pennsylvania man has been arrested for allegedly robbing a bank in Voorhees late last month.
35-year-old Phu V. Nguyen of Fairless Hills, Bucks County, PA, has been charged with first-degree robbery, second-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and second-degree unlawful possession of a weapon.
Police Respond to Robbery at Bank of Princeton
The Camden County Prosecutor's Office says on the morning of June 27th, Voorhees Township police officers were called to the Bank of Princeton on Route 73 for the report of a robbery.
Suspect Allegedly Showed Gun, Fled with Cash
According to authorities, a suspect entered the bank, passed a demand note to a teller, received an undisclosed amount of money, and then fled. He reportedly showed that he had a firearm in his waistband, but the weapon was not pointed or discharged during the robbery. No injuries were reported.
During their investigation, detectives "determined Nguyen was the individual responsible for the bank robbery."
Arrested in Pennsylvania
He was taken into custody in Horsham, PA, on July 3rd by the U.S. Marshals Service. He is currently being held in the Montgomery County Correctional Facility pending extradition to New Jersey.
