Big Pill Mill Bust: 3.5 Kilos of Fentanyl, Guns, $20K Seized in Camden County, NJ

Authorities in Camden County say two people have been arrested after they broke up a large pill mill following a six-month-long investigation.

According to Acting Camden County Prosecutor Jill Mayer, the operation spanned two locations -- one in the 1100 block of S. Merrimac Road and the other in the 2900 block of North 36th Street, both in Camden.

Mayer's office says,

After obtaining a search warrant, police seized approximately 3.5 kilograms of suspected fentanyl, plus suspected crack cocaine and powder cocaine from the properties. Officers also seized two hydraulic pill presses, over five pounds of cutting agents, and more than 8,300 pills. The market price of each pill is $15-$30. Law enforcement also seized two handguns with extended magazines and one long gun with a silencer. Both handguns were ghost guns – guns with no traceable serial number. Lastly, officers seized more than $20,000 in cash from these two locations.

Detectives also searched a storage facility in Pennsauken where they seized four more guns, a compact AK-47, and additional pill-making materials.

Two men, who were not identified by Mayer's office, have been apprehended and they are both charged with first-degree maintaining a drug manufacturing facility along with related weapons offenses.

The investigation involved numerous law enforcement agencies, including the Narcotics Task Force with the Camden County Prosecutor's Office, the New Jersey State Police Trafficking South Unit, State Police HazMat Unit, the Cherry Hill Police Department, and the Pennsauken Police Department.

"Any time we’re able to get fentanyl off the streets, it’s a major victory, not just for our office, but for our community," said Mayer in a press release.
