Authorities have charged a Pleasantville man with murder stemming from the death of a woman whose remains were found in a suitcase in January.

Detectives arrested 27-year-old Steven Stallworth of Pleasantville on Tuesday. The arrest is in connection with the murder of Tara Alicea -- her remains were discovered by an off-duty police officer who was hunting in a wooded area behind the Shore Mall in Egg Harbor Township at the beginning of the year. The 30-year-old from Monroeville was identified through photographs of her tattoos that were released to the public and from fingerprints. The medical examiner determined Alicea had been strangled. The Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office is not saying what led police to Stallworth.
